Qurratulain Shakoor is an energetic, flexible and a detail oriented Industrial Engineer currently working as Quality Assurance Specialist at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. She worked as Quality Assurance Officer at British American Tobacco (Pakistan). She possesses rich experience of QA and SQC tools to ensure consistent product quality standards and maintaining the cost of quality at optimum level. Effectively inspected and analyzed incoming product, processes and finished product with special focus on HSE at all levels.
She also has international exposure of working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at AlFaisal University –College of Engineering for two years as Instructor; demonstrator of lab courses (technical) and increased the problem-solving skills of students by delivering tutorial sessions.

    • Best Project Award (Title: Intelligent Solutions to Flow Shop and Job Shop Scheduling Problems in Discrete Manufacturing) in the 1st ASME Intra-UET Oral Technical Presentation Contest-2010.

    • Won first prize in IIE (Institute of Industrial Engineers) Local Chapter, Poster and Presentation contest 2008. (Topic: Quality Control)

    Current Position

    Quality Assurance Specialist - Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, November 2016 – Present (1 month),  Peshawar.


    •       Minimization of leaf degradation in primary conditioning cylinder in the GLT factory, PTC    2015                                 
    There was an increase in the percentage of scrap due to degradation of leaf in primary conditioning cylinder. Overall the size of leaf was affected after passing through the primary conditioning cylinder which was a cause of decrease in the Quality Ratio of the grades. 
    Using Six Sigma methodology we optimized the settings of the primary conditioning cylinder which helped to reduce the degradation by 10%less.
